My Faith Votes Releases Statement on National Day of Prayer

DALLAS — My Faith Votes CEO Jason Yates releases the following statement for the National Day of Prayer:

“For centuries, our nation has consecrated days of prayer to remember God’s kind providence toward us and to seek His wisdom and guidance. Today, as faith leaders gather in prayer with our president and vice president, I encourage every Christian in America to also seek God in his own heart and home. From the privilege of living peacefully in our land to the freedom to practice our faith with a clear conscience, we have much to be thankful for. Yet there’s still work to be done: abortion is still legal in America, the place of the family continues to deteriorate in society, and religious freedom is still under constant threat. Let us then turn to God, for He is the only one who can transform our nation.”

My Faith Votes—whose founding honorary national chairman was Dr. Ben Carson—is a non-partisan movement focused on motivating Christians in America to participate in local and national elections and be active members of society. By partnering with local churches, pastors and national faith leaders, My Faith Votes mobilizes and resources Christians to lead the conversation on the place of faith in culture and politics. In the 2016 election, My Faith Votes was largely credited with activating a sizable percentage of the 25 million Evangelicals who were registered to vote in previous elections but had chosen not to, prompting a record turnout by Evangelicals.

My Faith Votes— is a ministry that motivates, equips, and activates Christians in America to vote in every election, transforming our communities and influencing our nation with biblical truth. An estimated 25 million Christians who are registered to vote, fail to vote in presidential elections. My Faith Votes is on a mission to change this statistic by helping Christians act on their faith and vote in every election. When we pray unceasingly for our nation, think biblically about the issues, and vote consistently in every election the impact of Christians taking action from the local to the state and federal level will be unprecedented.
