A Message from our Founder and President

Dear My Faith Votes constituents,

This morning as I prayed, the Lord prompted me to pray specifically for the times we face in the coming 19 weeks. God called me to the task of “doing the something that I could do” to wake up people in America who are followers of Jesus to do the “something that they can do” to return our Lord to the “public square” and make Jesus’ presence known to a hurting and dying culture without God in America.

I think that expresses fairly well why I told God that I would do what I didn't feel qualified to do to launch an effort to accomplish that goal—even though I told Him that I really did not want to start something that would ultimately become My Faith Votes. I am humbled by and extremely proud of what has been accomplished since that morning in 2015 when My Faith Votes officially began. A core group of us at the beginning asked that question as to what we could and should do to “wake up people in America who are followers of Jesus to do the ‘something that they can do’ to return our Lord to the ‘public square’ and make Jesus’ presence known to a hurting and dying culture without God in America.” What we have seen is that God can do so much, even with our limited resources.

My prayer for My Faith Votes, for those who graciously join this mission and for myself for the next 19 weeks before the November 3 election is that we will constantly remind ourselves that, in His prayer recorded in John 17, Jesus told us as He prayed to His Father that the world (including America in 2020) is a tremendous battleground where the forces under Satan’s power and those under God’s authority are at war. Satan and his forces are motivated by bitter hatred for Christ and His forces.

Jesus prayed for His disciples, including those of us who follow Him today. He prayed that God would keep His chosen believers safe from Satan’s power, setting them apart and making them pure and holy, uniting them through His truth.

I also pray that we will remember that if we are truly recognizing our Lord in all our circumstances (no matter how difficult), we have no business being concerned about how and where He is engineering our circumstances. We must let our circumstances (and the huge hill we must climb) be what they may, but we must keep recognizing Jesus, maintaining complete reliance upon Him. It is only through the abandonment of ourselves and our circumstances that we will recognize Jesus in the midst of it all. In other words, we must keep our eyes on Him and lift Him up in the midst of our “public square” and make His presence known to a nation fraught with division.

That is our target. I want to thank each of you for all you have done and are doing to help hit the bullseye of that target. To God alone be the glory.

###

My Faith Votes— is a ministry that motivates, equips, and activates Christians in America to vote in every election, transforming our communities and influencing our nation with biblical truth. An estimated 25 million Christians who are registered to vote, fail to vote in presidential elections. My Faith Votes is on a mission to change this statistic by helping Christians act on their faith and vote in every election. When we pray unceasingly for our nation, think biblically about the issues, and vote consistently in every election the impact of Christians taking action from the local to the state and federal level will be unprecedented.
